Week of July 6th

Memory Verse: 1 Kings 19:11-13
11“The Lord said, ‘Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.’ Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, ‘What are you doing here, Elijah?’”

Dwell | MONDAY

PRAY

Lord God, give me the courage to stand for Your truth, even when it makes me uncomfortable. Teach me to trust Your Word above the threats of this world, knowing You alone are sovereign. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

HEAR

1)    What made Elijah’s declaration to King Ahab such a bold and dangerous act of faith in the spiritual and political climate of Israel?
2)    Why was it significant that Elijah appeared suddenly in the text, and what does this reveal about his confidence in God’s calling?

TALK

1)    What might taking a bold step of faith look like in your life today, and what fears hold you back from taking it?
2)    Have you ever had to speak truth in a situation where it wasn’t welcome? What did you learn from that experience?

LIVE

Just as Elijah stood before a wicked king with nothing but the Word of God, take a bold step of obedience where God is calling you – whether it’s confronting sin, sharing the Gospel, or standing firm in a compromising world. Trust that God is with you in the moment, just as He was with Elijah in the drought.

Dwell | TUESDAY

PRAY

Heavenly Father, help me to trust Your leading even when the path is hidden and the provision seems impossible. Teach me to rely fully on You, knowing that where You guide, You also provide. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

HEAR

1)    Why would it have taken great faith for Elijah to retreat to the brook Cherith and depend on ravens for food?
2)    How does Elijah’s quiet obedience after a public confrontation with Ahab reveal another side of bold faith?

TALK

1)    Have you ever felt God leading you into a place of isolation, stillness, or dependence–how did you respond?
2)    What are some ways God may be calling you to trust His provision rather than your own plans or resources?

LIVE

Like Elijah, you may not be called to speak on a mountaintop today, but you might be called to trust God in a quiet place where only he can provide. This week, take one step of faith that places you outside your comfort zone-whether it’s trusting God with a financial decision, time of waiting, or personal sacrifice-and watch how he meets you there.

Dwell | WEDNESDAY

PRAY

Lord, strengthen my faith to trust Your provision when resources are scarce and to believe in Your power when hope seems lost. Help us, like Elijah, to cry out to You with bold prayers, trusting You to do what only You can do. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

HEAR

1)    How did Elijah demonstrate bold faith by asking the widow to give her last meal and by trusting God to provide through someone with so little?
2)    What does Elijah’s prayer over the dead boy reveal about his belief in God’s power, even in the face of apparent finality?

TALK

1)    When have you been challenged to give or serve even when you felt you had very little to offer?
2)    Do you find it difficult to pray bold prayers when the situation seems hopeless? What might God be asking you to trust Him with today?

LIVE

Elijah faced both extreme lack and deep loss, yet he trusted God to show up with provision and power. This week, consider one area where God may be asking you to step out in bold faith–whether it’s giving generously, praying for the impossible, or serving sacrificially–and take that step, trusting God to move.

Dwell | THURSDAY

PRAY

Lord God, give me the courage of Elijah–to stand boldly for Your truth, even when I must stand alone. Let our faith in You shine clearly before a watching world, so that others may know You alone are God.

HEAR

1)    What does Elijah’s willingness to stand alone against 450 prophets of Baal tell us about his faith and relationship with God?
2)    How Does Elijah’s prayer in verses 36-37 reflect both humility and confidence in God’s power?

TALK

1)    When have you had to take a stand for your faith, even when others disagreed or remained silent? How did it challenge or grow your trust in God?
2)    What keeps us from being bold for God in today’s culture, and how can we encourage each other to be more like Elijah?

LIVE

Elijah stood before a hostile crowd, not to prove himself, but to point people back to the one true God. This week, ask yourself: where is God calling you to take a public stand for Him–whether in your workplace, school, or relationships? Don’t shrink back. Speak truth in love, trust God’s power, and let your faith be a light on a mountaintop.

Dwell | FRIDAY

PRAY

Father, when fear and discouragement cloud our faith, help us to hear Your voice and remember that You are not finished with us. Strengthen us to rise again and walk in obedience, even when the journey feels too much for us.

HEAR

1)    How did Elijah’s exhaustion and fear lead him to despair? What does God’s response teach us about His care for those who are discouraged?
2)    What boldness is required not just to stand on a mountaintop, but to get back up and obey after a season of fear, failure, or fatigue?

TALK

1)    Have you ever felt like giving up in the faith walk? What helped you take the next step forward?
2)    How can we support one another in times when taking the next step of faith feels like the hardest one?

LIVE

Bold faith isn’t just about standing up in victory - it’s about getting back up in defeat. Like Elijah, God may be calling you to rest, listen, and then rise again to obey the next assignment He places before you. This week, identify one area where discouragement or fear has held you back, and with God’s strength, take the next faithful step forward.
